Job Description:

The Artificial Intelligence Summer intern will be responsible for helping the Kailera Commercial team understand, explore, and apply effective AI principles to assist in launch preparation of 9531, Kailera’s leading launch candidate for Obesity. This internship will help Kailera better understand the lived experience of people with obesity and their weight management journey. This will help us achieve our vision of being Consumer First, Digital First.

Job Responsibility:

  • Research AI trends, tools, and technologies relevant to commercializing a future obesity pharmaceutical medication
  • Identify potential use cases for AI that could improve efficiency, decision-making, or customer experience
  • Collaborate with the Commercial, Corporate Strategy, and other cross-functional teams to understand business processes and pain points
  • Support the Commercial team with AI perspectives to enhance current and future business initiatives or processes
  • Develop small-scale prototypes or simulations to demonstrate feasibility for possible AI applications
  • Prepare final report and presentation summarizing findings and recommendations for leadership

Requirements:

  • Strong interest in AI, machine learning, emerging technologies, and life sciences
  • Basic programming skills (Python preferred) and familiarity with machine learning concepts
  • Inquisitive, curious and driven
  • Can think critically alone and constructively in a team
  • A compelling communicator, in person and in writing
  • A demonstrated interest in life sciences and genuine compassion for people living with obesity
  • Masters degree candidates who are pursuing a degree in computer science, machine learning, data science, engineering, or business analytics, and have an interest in life sciences

Nice to have:

  • Experience with AI/ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch) is a plus
  • Knowledge of data analysis and visualization tools
  • Understanding of business strategy and process improvement
