Job Responsibility:
Innovate in Active Learning: Design and implement novel active learning strategies to optimize data selection and model efficiency, reducing training costs while boosting performance
Advance LLM Training: Explore state-of-the-art techniques for training large language models (LLMs), including fine-tuning, prompt engineering, and scaling methodologies
Synthetic Data Generation: Develop creative approaches to generating high-fidelity synthetic data, with a special emphasis on robotics applications—enabling safer, more robust AI systems for real-world deployment
Reimagine Model Building and Training: Pioneer new architectures, algorithms, and pipelines for building and training AI models from the ground up, challenging conventional methods
Probe and Test AI Models: Invent meta-models that learn to intelligently probe, evaluate, and stress-test other AI systems, uncovering vulnerabilities and enhancing reliability
Lead New Projects: Initiate and prototype fresh ideas, from proof-of-concept research to scalable implementations, in a collaborative team setting
Collaborate and Publish: Work closely with cross-functional teams, contribute to open-source projects, and potentially publish findings in top AI conferences (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML)
Requirements:
Technical Expertise: Strong hands-on experience with Generative AI (GenAI), LLMs (e.g., GPT, Llama), and core AI/ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face). Comfortable diving into active learning, synthetic data tools, and model evaluation techniques
Research Mindset: A proven track record of innovative thinking—whether from academia, industry R&D, or personal projects. You love experimenting with new ideas and aren't afraid to fail fast and iterate
Educational Background: Advanced degree (MS/PhD preferred) in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, Robotics, or a related field
Skills: Proficiency in Python, data pipelines, cloud computing (e.g., AWS/GCP), and version control (Git). Experience with robotics simulation (e.g., ROS, Gazebo) or adversarial testing is a plus
Soft Skills: Self-starter with excellent problem-solving abilities, strong communication for sharing complex ideas, and a collaborative spirit. Must be authorized to work in the US
Location: Based in Silicon Valley/SF BAY AREA—hybrid/remote options available for exceptional candidates
