Job Description

An ‘Outstanding’ school is Merton is looking for an Art Teacher to join their thriving department from September 2026. The school teaches various Art subjects such as Art & Design, Graphic Design, and Photography at GCSE and A Level and is looking for someone with a specialism in one of these areas. This School has creativity emanating out of it, and as such this school is oversubscribed with talented students. Making this not only an inspiring place to work but as an art teacher also the perfect opportunity to use your own artistic skills whilst supporting children’s education. You will have plenty of opportunities to bring your creative flair into the classroom and make Art accessible to all students. You will also have the freedom to help design the way the curriculum is delivered, to ensure its success.

Job Responsibility

  • Teach across KS3,4, and 5
  • Plan your lessons to meet the Curriculum for Excellence national guidance
  • Work with colleagues to plan and coordinate lessons

Requirements

  • UK QTS – Essential
  • Strong understanding of teaching standards
  • Art related degree at 1:1 or 2:1 from reputable university
  • If not a degree strong experience in a relevant field
  • Ambitious and driven personality
  • Great communication skills
  • Desire to progress
