Pink Tile Education is supporting a welcoming secondary school in the Burgess Hill area in their search for a passionate and dedicated Art Teacher to join their team in September. This is a full-time permanent position teaching Art across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons, supporting student progress, and contributing positively to the wider school community.
Job Responsibility
Plan and deliver high-quality Art lessons across KS3 and KS4 in line with the national curriculum
Create engaging and differentiated lesson plans that meet the needs of all learners
Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing constructive feedback to support development
Inspire creativity and encourage students to explore a variety of artistic techniques, styles, and media
Support students in developing their practical, observational, and evaluative skills
Prepare students effectively for GCSE Art coursework and examinations
Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and behaviour for learning
Work collaboratively with the Creative Arts department to plan schemes of work and share best practice
Adapt teaching approaches to support students with varying abilities, including those with additional learning needs
Participate in departmental meetings, staff meetings, and professional development activities
Communicate effectively with colleagues, parents, and carers regarding student progress and wellbeing
Uphold school policies and safeguarding procedures at all times
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
Experience teaching Art at KS3 and KS4
Strong subject knowledge across a range of artistic disciplines and techniques
Excellent classroom management and communication skills
A commitment to supporting student achievement and wellbeing
Ability to inspire creativity and enthusiasm for the arts
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
Must hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one
