Job Description:

A high-performing Secondary School in Southwark, SE London are searching for an Art & Design Technician to join their team in September. This is a full time position, term time only. As an Art & Design Technician you will be working directly within the Art & Design department, supporting teachers and students with practical lessons, managing stock levels, preparing and maintaining materials, equipment and resources. You will be working with workshop tools and heavy-duty equipment, therefore a strong understanding and awareness of Health and Safety is absolutely paramount.

Job Responsibility:

Providing technical support for the Art & Design Technology departments
Assisting with the preparation of materials for Art & DT classes
Maintaining machinery and stock
Supporting the class teachers during practical demonstrations
Maintaining strong health and safety codes of conduct at all times

Requirements:

Experience and interest in Art, Design and Technology, including experience using equipment at least on a personal level, i.e during personal projects or degree studies
Confident communicator, both written and verbally
Strong understanding of health and safety
