Job Description

The Corporation of the City of North Bay (“the City”) is accepting applications for the position of Arena Office Staff / Skate Patrol staff for Arenas. Successful candidates will be responsible for assisting with the operation of various events and activities held at the Arenas.

Job Responsibility

  • Reception, cashier and office duties
  • Provide information in person and on phone to public regarding arena activities and events
  • Set up cash drawers, taking payments, balancing cash
  • Prepare dressing room assignment sheets
  • Maintain accuracy of dressing room boards
  • Control the lending of dressing room keys and arena time clocks
  • Providing on-ice supervision for public skating sessions and shinny hockey
  • Ensuring safety of participants
  • Verifying payment
  • Enforcing policies and rules

Requirements

  • Current First Aid and CPR training
  • Cash handling experience
  • Good skating ability (experience playing hockey or figure skating is an asset)
  • Customer service experience required
  • Clear and pleasant manner, ability to work in a busy office environment
  • Superior verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with minimum supervision, occasionally in a stressful environment
  • Competent with computers and Office software
  • Applicants will require a Criminal Record Check prior to confirmation of employment
