As Finishing Area Specialist, you will have the opportunity to support both Maintenance and Production teams and will be committed to the safe and environmentally responsible operation of our facility. You will provide technical expertise during daily operations, area shutdowns, and major turnarounds so your ability to collaborate and communicate with cross functional teams, stakeholders and leaders is critical. Your work will ensure our processes, our people and our facilities run smoothly, efficiently, and safely each and every day.
Job Responsibility:
Ensure operators have knowledge, experience and procedures to make product safely and efficiently to specification
Manage Machine Clothing inventory and clothing changes on the machine
Manage roll life and changes on the machine
Lead in developing and planning capital projects for sustaining and discretionary projects
Provide timely communication of equipment maintenance requirements to maintenance
Maintain lock out and confined space procedures
Maintain operator technical training materials
Ensure daily operating plans are communicated and executed
Direct the activities of the crew on maintenance down days
Provide troubleshooting expertise
Providing coverage for the area manager when required
Requirements:
Several years of broad-based experience, ideally gained in a modern pulp mill or similar industrial setting
Extensive experience in the pulping process
Relevant post-secondary technical education
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Process or Chemical Engineering registered with EGBC as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) OR a related technical diploma (Technologist), Trades or extensive Pulp Production experience
