We’re recruiting for an Area Sales Manager to join a growing operation in the waste and resource management sector, based out of Warrington. This is a hands-on, field-driven sales role. You’ll be out on patch, in front of customers, on sites, building relationships and spotting opportunities – not sat behind a desk waiting for things to happen. As an Area Sales Manager, you’ll take ownership of your territory, develop new business from the ground up, and be visible across key accounts and competitor sites. You’ll play a key role in driving revenue, increasing site utilisation and making sure this business is front of mind with customers in your area. If you enjoy getting out, opening doors, building relationships face-to-face and making things happen, this is that sort of role.
Job Responsibility
Win new business across your territory through proactive, face-to-face sales activity
Get out on customer and prospect sites, building relationships and identifying opportunities
Increase gate fees, volumes and overall site revenue
Carry out competitor site visits and market mapping to stay ahead
Manage quotes, negotiations and customer queries through to close
Build long-term relationships that lead to repeat and increased business
Maintain a clear pipeline and report on performance, forecasts and activity
Work closely with site teams to ensure service delivery matches what you’ve sold
Requirements
Proven experience in a field-based, B2B sales role (Area Sales Manager, Business Development, Territory Sales)
Comfortable being out on the road the majority of the week
Confident approaching new customers, walking sites and starting conversations
Strong commercial mindset with the ability to spot and convert opportunities
Driven, self-starting and thrives on hitting and exceeding targets
Able to manage the admin side (pipeline, forecasts, CRM) without it being the main focus
