Job Responsibility
Actively prospect and generate new business through field-based activity, including cold calling and door knocking
Build and develop strong relationships with trade customers, local builders and contractors
Identify and convert opportunities across both retail (public) and contract/project channels
Manage and grow an existing customer base, increasing spend and product penetration
Deliver product knowledge and value-led sales conversations to customers
Maintain a structured pipeline of activity, tracking leads and opportunities
Work closely with internal teams to ensure excellent service and order fulfilment
Provide regular feedback on market trends, competitor activity and customer demands
Requirements
Proven experience in a field-based sales or business development role
Strong track record of winning new business
Confident, resilient and comfortable with cold calling/door knocking
Ability to build relationships across trade and contractor networks
Highly organised with strong territory management skills
Full UK driving licence
Nice to have
Experience within building materials, construction supplies, KBB, or home improvement sectors
Experience selling into trade counters, builders merchants or contractors
