Area Manager role at ThredUp's distribution center, leading a large team to meet production goals, improve processes, and build a strong team culture within an upbeat environment.
Job Responsibility:
Lead a team of 60-100 Associates, including 2-4 Operations Leads, for inbound, outbound, automation or another business area
Collaborate with peers to meet production goals and keep workflow humming for your shift
Manage team by developing and supporting Leads who are actively coaching Associates
Utilize data to plan weekly and beyond
Study processes and systems to help improve and innovate
Build relationships with team, peers, and leadership
Own team’s performance and set them up for success
Analyze KPIs using reporting tools to improve distribution center performance
Collaborate to improve processes, increase efficiency, and target areas of opportunity
Handle day-to-day team needs including vacation requests, scheduling, timecards, attendance
Participate in special projects as needed
Give and receive timely, constructive, and respectful feedback
Actively participate in the recruiting, onboarding, development, and retention of Associates
Demonstrate and award ambassadors of the thredUP values (DOTS) and culture
Create a safe work environment and show others how to operate safely
Requirements:
5+ years in distribution/retail experience
At least 3 years of successful training, mentoring, coaching, and developing people you’ve led
Experience utilizing reports and KPIs to coach and develop team members
Comfortable making complex decisions to balance the needs of the team and the business
Strong collaborator who consistently connects with peers, leaders, and other team members

Tech-savvy and comfortable utilizing reporting tools to analyze KPIs
Excellent communicator well-versed in engaging, recognizing the team, establishing personal connections and demonstrating care
