ESSENTIAL DUTIES: The position includes, but is not limited to, the following essential job duties, responsibilities, and requirements: Perform regular preventative and unscheduled/emergency maintenance on a variety of equipment associated with the production area. Keep equipment parts inventory list, order replacement parts as necessary. Detect and notify the Production Supervisor or Production Manager of questionable conditions and/or equipment that is not working properly. Work with outside vendors as necessary. Perform maintenance of building and grounds as directed. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Perform all duties in compliance with USDA or FDA, OSHA and state and local regulations and company policies and procedures, including safety guidelines and the use of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s). JOB REQUIREMENTS: High School diploma or GED. A two-year degree or completion of a program in mechanical or industrial maintenance a plus. 5 + years’ manufacturing experience with strong skills in equipment repair and maintenance. Must be 18 years of age or older. Must possess knowledge of the following: machine repair, electrical, carpentry, plumbing, painting and janitorial skills. Required to be familiar with and use the hand tools and power tools necessary to perform those skills. Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controls (PLC). Have the ability to comprehend verbal instructions and read and interpret machine specs, instruction manuals and product labels. Be reliable and dependable; available to work Monday through Friday and occasionally Saturday or Sunday as directed by management. Have a high level of job motivation and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Working conditions inventory of the position includes: Work can include variable hours on all shifts, weekends and holidays. Tasks are generally performed indoors in a temperature-controlled setting but can include exposure to extreme temperatures (both hot and cold), vapors/fumes/food odors, high humidity, noise and household chemicals for short periods routinely and longer periods occasionally. Exposure to extreme cold temperatures while performing occasional work in a walk in cooler and/or freezer Exposure to occasional noise. Work with minimum direction and periodic supervision.
