Job Description:

This role will require you to cover our sites in the East and East Anglia region to attend breakdowns and for preventative maintenance, we will provide a company van for travelling. You will be based at one of our sites in East of England region with regular travel to other sites. This role is based on 48 hours per week with overtime.

Job Responsibility:

  • Developing a preventative maintenance system and carrying out planned maintenance activities to ensure concrete plants operate safely and reliably
  • Playing a key 'hands on' role in planning and implementing plant improvements
  • Quickly fault finding and responding to unplanned plant shutdowns
  • Assisting area management team in programming scheduled maintenance and repair aligned to production requirements and managing site defect logs
  • Facilitating and coordinating repair and maintenance of ready mix concrete plants
  • Eliminating preventable plant breakdowns
  • Ensuring cost effective and timely ordering and supply of spares and critical equipment
  • Undertaking risk assessment and associated paperwork to ensure suitable safe system of work
  • Liaising daily with management and plant operations team to ascertain repair and maintenance requirements
  • Providing supervision of others and third parties assisting in works being carried out

Requirements:

  • Good understanding of health safety and environmental impacts of role
  • Experience and understanding of mechanical fitting and maintenance of equipment including conveyors, pumps, pipes, valves, filter systems, pneumatics hydraulics bearings, gear boxes etc
  • Welding and burning for fabrication and maintenance
  • Use of pulling and lifting equipment
  • Experienced in the use of workshop equipment
  • Mechanical fault finding
  • Competency in basic Multi Skilling
  • Essential experience working on heavy plant, fixed and/or mobile approach
  • Ability to remain composed under pressure

  • Carry out mechanical fitting tasks on machine components including spindles, bearings, gears, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
