Job Description:

The Investigator under the direction of the APDM for responding to incidents/requests to analyze and investigate matters pertaining to shrink, policy violations, fraud, internal/external investigations and asset protection. The Investigator is responsible for providing detailed analysis and developing cases and identifying opportunities to reduce company shrink/liability issues.

Job Responsibility:

  • Investigate food portions in the service departments
  • Investigate unauthorized discounts that includes, mark downs, mislabeling/mispricing, under weighing products
  • Investigate shrink on service departments or low profits due to over ordering product, product thrown away, receiving issues, using product to make byproducts or any other possible theft
  • Utilize data available through CCTV systems, exception report system, or NCR reports to develop cases on possible dishonest acts
  • Investigate vendor theft by working with Area Internal Auditor
  • Investigate liquor, baby formula and tobacco theft
  • Train new Asset Protection Area Auditors and/or conduct auditors’ responsibility to include AP Detective work

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior loss prevention experience in theft apprehensions preferred but not required
  • Must possess the ability to make good sound decisions under stressful situations
  • Must be able to maintain/manage confidential information
  • Must be able to stand/walk the sales floor for the entire scheduled shift
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays appropriate to retail business needs
  • Must be able to submit and successfully pass a criminal background check
  • Must be at least 18
  • Basic understanding of Spanish and English language
  • reading, writing and speaking

Nice to have:

Prior loss prevention experience in theft apprehensions
