Job Description:

The Sellafield Product & Residue Store (SPRS) Retreatment Plant (SRP) Project will provide a facility that receives Special Nuclear Material (SNM) from existing stores across the Sellafield site and processes it into a form suitable for safe and secure storage until 2120. The Area Engineering Manager will be responsible for managing a team of senior and principal engineers in delivery of a highly complex nuclear project.

Job Responsibility:

  • Solution development and delivery (via design team) of engineering design scope for manufacture and construction
  • Managing configuration baselines and design intent
  • Ensuring Safe and Legal designs (via design responsible engineers) and CDM responsibilities
  • Requirements Management (Verification and Validation management)
  • Cost/Schedule and change management of engineering scope (supporting relevant Project Manager)
  • Quality (alongside the Quality Leads)
  • People Management of design team
  • Supporting the wider project in specific areas such as delivery of overall safety case aspects (Design Justification Report (DJR) delivery in particular)

Requirements:

  • Previous experience of delivering mechanical and electrical scope on a large scale engineering design project and the management of engineering design teams
  • Chartered or Incorporated engineering status with a recognised professional body
  • Engineering Management and/or systems engineering experience and ideally INCOSE associated qualification such as ASEP status
  • Previous experience of nuclear project delivery and working in highly regulated environments
