The Area Director of Resident Care provides multi-community clinical leadership and support across the Indiana market. This role is responsible for the development, implementation, and ongoing oversight of quality management systems, clinical standards, and educational initiatives within assigned communities. Serving as a traveling clinical partner, the Area Director of Resident Care ensures consistent adherence to state and federal regulations, supports communities through surveys and compliance reviews, and partners with Executive Directors and clinical leaders to drive operational excellence, risk mitigation, and high-quality resident outcomes. This position plays a critical role in stabilizing, mentoring, and strengthening community-based clinical teams while promoting consistency in care delivery across the region.
Job Responsibility:
Monitors the implementation of current policies and procedures, which reflect adherence to corporate and external regulatory guidelines
Reviews and investigates resident complaints/Hotline Complaints as directed
Conducts compliance surveys at communities
Participates in State and Federal surveys and compliance investigations
Supports and follows up with communities in identifying trends and assists in the development of corrective action plans
Schedules periodic site visits to provide supervision, clinical expertise, ensure communication, and to monitor the overall operation the clinical services department
Reviews all potential move-outs
Reviews all potential move-in denials prior to any communication
Provide in-service training and orientation to community staff regarding survey process, risk management, corporate compliance, performance improvement, etc.
Participates in the clinical review of residents as needed
Audits level of care assessments for accuracy and compliance
Participates in review of clinical risk scenarios at the community level to mitigate liability and risk
Works closely with the RF and DHW to review and interpret state regulations as needed
Participate in the interview and selection process for community DHWs
Orchestrates onboarding of new DHWs
Participate in the clinical review of new move-ins as needed and in support of the DHW
Maintains current knowledge of state regulations and monitor proposed changes to regulations
Develops into valued and trusted member of the regional team offering clinical expertise and guidance to RDO, RDS and HRM

Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing required
Master of Science in Nursing preferred
Maintains knowledge of regulatory compliance in all states of responsibility
Experience in assisted living, home health or long-term care industries
