As an Area Delivery Unit Manager, you’ll play a key role in driving the performance, quality and efficiency of Delivery Units across your area. Working closely with Area and Regional leadership, you’ll design, implement and improve the Delivery Unit model ensuring it remains commercially strong, operationally effective and capable of delivering an exceptional service to our couriers, contractors and customers. You’ll provide critical operational expertise, support the development of training and standards, influence strategy, and lead on planning for peak volumes. This is a role where your insight will shape processes, your leadership will lift performance, and your decisions will help deliver a best-in-class final mile.
Job Responsibility:
Provide operational expertise on sourcing, financial models, standards and performance for Delivery Units
Design and coach the implementation of improvements to drive Delivery Unit performance
Ensure Delivery Units are prepared for volume forecasts, especially during Peak
Develop and enhance training and materials for Delivery Unit Controllers to support continual performance improvement
Lead continuous improvement in areas such as sourcing, resourcing, quality, cost or training
Use financial and performance insights to support operational changes that boost customer and client satisfaction
Requirements:
Current UK driving licence
IOSH qualification (or equivalent)
Experience within a self-employed courier model or final-mile delivery environment
Strong background in customer-facing or customer-focused industries
Proven experience coaching, motivating and supporting colleagues
Confident problem-solver with strong planning and contingency skills
