Job Description:

Global Marketing uses creativity and business flair to drive top-line revenue growth by optimizing marketplace opportunities, brand strength, and customer insight. The Brand team creates brand consistency while enabling innovation. The Archivist role involves managing archive collections, responding to historical research enquiries, implementing archives policies, supporting heritage programs, and building relationships within the team.

Job Responsibility:

Growing and improving access to the archive collections, including collecting, appraising, ingesting, cataloguing, preventative preservation, tracking, and digitising records
Planning and delivering specialist collections management programmes
Supporting the annual collecting plans
Conducting detailed historical research to respond to enquiries from academics, genealogists, journalists, local historians, and special interest groups
Delivering tours and history presentations at the HK Archive Centre for employees, clients, and other stakeholders
Supporting the heritage and engagement programme, including research, content development, writing, and public speaking
Implementing policies and procedures that increase accessibility to the bank’s historical archives
Providing specialist expertise to permanently preserve physical archives and research and historical knowledge
Developing strong relationships with colleagues in Archives and the Brand function to facilitate execution of Archives activities

Requirements:

Qualification in Archives Management (or related discipline) and/or proven track record of implementing collections management programmes in the heritage sector
Knowledge of latest trends and best practice in the archives and heritage sector
Strong cataloguing experience following archival standards such as ISAD(G) and experience working with digital archives
Knowledge of Preservica software is an advantage
Research and storytelling skills with some experience of curating history topics
Strong interpersonal, project management skills and good presentation skills
