Job Description

We are looking for an Architecture/Interior Designer to join a team in Asheville, North Carolina on a contract-to-permanent basis. This role combines interior design expertise with customer-facing consultation, helping clients identify solutions that align with their style, space, and functional needs. The ideal candidate brings a strong design foundation, confidence in presentation tools and space-planning software, and the ability to create a seamless experience from initial conversation through final recommendation.

Job Responsibility

  • Welcome clients and lead thoughtful conversations to understand their design goals, preferences, and practical requirements
  • Present tailored product and design recommendations that align with customer needs, budget considerations, and overall project vision
  • Respond to questions about products, services, and showroom offerings with clear and attentive guidance
  • Create design concepts, visual presentations, and room layouts using appropriate design software and presentation tools
  • Stay informed on current interior design styles, materials, and industry direction to deliver relevant and appealing solutions
  • Support the growth of team capability by sharing knowledge, offering guidance, and assisting others with design-related learning
  • Maintain organized and visually appealing work areas while ensuring assigned spaces remain clean, accurate, and client-ready
  • Follow established policies related to sales activity, payments, exchanges, and loss prevention while remaining alert to security concerns
  • Complete additional tasks as needed to support daily operations and client service expectations

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design is required
  • At least 2 years of relevant interior design or closely related experience is preferred
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft PowerPoint, Prezi, Canva, Microsoft applications, and 3-D room planning tools
  • Strong understanding of design methods, technical drawings, space planning, and visual presentation development
  • Ability to communicate professionally in both verbal and written formats with clients and team members
  • Demonstrated consultative sales skills, including needs discovery, recommendation development, and customer service delivery
  • High attention to detail, including accuracy with measurements, numerical information, colors, and design specifications
  • Ability to move throughout the showroom, kneel when needed, use a tablet or computer, and lift up to 25 pounds
