Job Description:

Merrick & Company is seeking a college or graduate school Architect student for a paid summer Co-Op for Summer 2026 at our Ottawa, Ontario office. The summer Co-Op will provide the Architecture student an opportunity to gain technical experience in the field of architecture.

Job Responsibility:

  • Gain technical experience in the field of architecture
  • Be exposed to all aspects of the project design
  • Work on unique and interesting projects
  • Work in a multi-discipline design studio under the supervision of the Project Architect
  • Receive specific and detailed instructions regarding architectural tasks
  • Take the initiative to either work out or research a work effort
  • Collaborate with other drafters/designers
  • Follow directions and schedules
  • Work independently
  • Possess good written and oral communication skills
  • Problem solve
  • Be team oriented, self-starting and focused on producing good design in a most efficient manner
  • Meet expectations for attendance and punctuality

Requirements:

  • Must have graduation date after August 2026 to be eligible
  • Must be pursuing an Architecture degree from an CACB accredited program or a current graduate student pursuing a Master’s degree in Architecture
  • Must include a portfolio with application
  • Knowledge of Revit
  • Client projects for this position require Canadian Citizenship

Nice to have:

  • Basic skills in AutoCAD, Sketch-up, and 3D MAX
  • Knowledge in Adobe Photoshop and graphic experience
  • Local candidates are strongly preferred
