Job Description

Full-time Architectural Summer Intern to participate on various projects in all phases of design and construction. This is a temporary role, and this candidate should be actively pursuing a degree in Architecture. This position reports to the Senior Technical Architect.

Job Responsibility

  • Collaborate as part of a team and work on a wide range of projects in all phases of design and construction
  • Assist in the production of accurate technical drawings, documents, and project specifications, including but not limited to, life safety plans, life cycle cost analysis (LCCA), sustainability initiatives, and other required documentation
  • Use project checklists and HHA-established standards during all project phases
  • Assist the project team in the timely completion of all project deadlines
  • Complete design layouts and features by researching, compiling, and recording information
  • Compile and analyze all relevant project data to prepare project presentations, drawings, and specifications
  • Participate in building assessments and field verification activities
  • Attend project meetings and site visits
  • write meeting minutes and reports detailing observations
  • Review completed plans, reports, estimates, and calculations prior to review by project leadership
  • Assist in the creation of project renderings and graphic representations
  • Work closely with project leadership and team to achieve a high level of project success
  • Apply a rigorous concept-based design process to justify decision-making

Requirements

  • Actively pursuing a degree in Architecture, Architectural Technologies, Architectural Engineering, or related field
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling, visualization and graphic software
  • REVIT strongly preferred
  • Basic knowledge of: Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, Bluebeam Revu, and Autodesk
  • Basic knowledge of materials, construction techniques, specifications, and building codes
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
