Job Description:

You are a licensed Architect with 15+ years of post-degree experience. You have a broad understanding of architectural design, construction, and safety. You are already an expert. Robson Forensic will train you to be a forensic expert. As an Architecture Expert, you will investigate architectural incidents; analyze documents and on-site conditions to determine the facts and issues at hand; write clear, scientifically sound reports; provide expert testimony. You will delve into the why behind incidents, critically assessing decision-making, operational procedures, and the standard of care. It is extremely challenging work, but also an intellectually thrilling and rewarding experience. Location: Dallas/Fort Worth/Irving, TX (hybrid).

Requirements:

  • Education: B.S. or higher in Architecture and an active state licensure in good standing
  • Licensure: NCARB membership w/ multi-state licensure eligibility
  • AIA membership a plus
  • Certification: Certified Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI), or willing to become certified
  • Experience: 15+ years of post-degree experience, designing or working on buildings with a variety of Use Groups - Assembly, Business, Educational, Mercantile, Industrial, Institutional, Factory, and Residential, mixed-use
  • experience with code evaluation, specification writing and/or diagnosing building defects and design analysis
  • proven experience in construction, demonstrated through contract administration, construction management, design/build, and/or general contracting
  • Additional Experience a Plus: Property management & BIM experience a plus
  • Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of building safety and construction technology
  • Skills: Excellent technical & analytical skills
  • strong written & verbal communication skills
  • Ability: Safely climb/navigate ladders, roofs, scaffolding, etc. for inspection activities
  • Work Style: Approximately 20% travel for inspections
  • the remainder is focused on analysis and report drafting, working independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Prior forensic experience is not required
  • You must have a clean background screen, a driver’s license, and the ability to drive
