Barrientos Design & Consulting is seeking an experienced and motivated Architect Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of complex architectural projects from planning through construction. This role is well-suited for a senior architect with a strong technical foundation, proven leadership skills, and the ability to manage interdisciplinary teams. You’ll work closely with the Principal and clients to drive high-performance outcomes that align with the firm’s standards for functionality, quality, and community impact.
Job Responsibility:
Develop project work plans, deliverables, schedules, and staffing strategies
Coordinate internal team assignments and consultant contracts
Anticipate resource needs and align project timelines with firm capacity
Maintain and track project performance in project cost accounting software
Direct day-to-day project activities and maintain client communications
Manage and oversee teams’ production of working drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and presentations
Foster collaboration across disciplines and consultant teams
Track performance against schedule, budget, and project scope
Conduct quality assurance reviews of drawings and technical specs
Support implementation of firmwide QA/QC standards alongside the Principal
Oversee submittals, RFIs, and construction communications
Conduct field observations, resolve issues, and document site visits
Manage pay applications, change orders, and closeout procedures
Ensure compliance with building codes, ADA, and zoning regulations
Maintain documentation and enforce change management protocols
Mentor junior architects and interns
Company representation and business development and professional events
Maintain and create new client relationships
Model strong communication, professionalism, and problem-solving
Requirements:
Professional degree in Architecture
Master’s preferred
Licensed architect with 10 – 15 years of professional experience (8 years minimum of experience required)
Proven success managing projects from concept through construction
Expertise in public works and operations-focused facilities
Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Excel, and project management software
Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills
