Job Description

The Architect for Private Cloud Solutions is responsible for defining and driving the architecture of next-generation private cloud solutions. This role acts as a cross-functional integrator, working closely with the Private Cloud Control Plane and Morpheus teams to ensure architectural consistency, technical excellence, and alignment with business strategy across the Private Cloud portfolio.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead end-to-end architecture for customer-managed private cloud offerings, ensuring modularity, scalability, and security
  • collaborate with product management, engineering, and field teams to translate customer and business requirements into actionable technical designs
  • serve as the architectural liaison between the control plane, orchestration (Morpheus), and downstream platform teams
  • define and maintain architectural standards, patterns, and reusable components across the Private Cloud ecosystem
  • drive architectural reviews, design validation, and technical governance across product teams
  • represent architecture in product committees and strategic planning forums to influence roadmap and prioritization
  • mentor and guide engineering teams on architectural best practices and solution design
  • identify and evaluate emerging technologies to inform long-term platform evolution

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 15+ years of experience designing and architecting cloud-native enterprise products and solutions, including advanced knowledge in networking, storage and compute
  • proven experience designing and delivering customer-managed or hybrid cloud solutions at scale
  • deep understanding of orchestration platforms (e.g., Morpheus, VMware, OpenStack) and control plane architectures
  • strong knowledge of infrastructure-as-code, automation frameworks, CI/CD pipelines
  • excellent communication skills with the ability to influence engineering, product, and executive teams

Nice to have

  • Experience with HPE GreenLake or similar consumption-based cloud models
  • familiarity with Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, and cloud-native design patterns
  • demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional architecture initiatives and mentor
