Job Description:

The Offer Order (O2) platform is a client data platform within Schwab that drives differentiated experiences for customers, accounts, households, and advisors through various channels. The sophisticated systems that power segmentation, client preferences and experiences use event driven architecture, APIs, batch, and frameworks to provide resilient and scalable capabilities.

Job Responsibility:

  • Shape the overall strategic vision and technical roadmap for O2 within the Client Data organization
  • Formulate and socialize policies, standards, and governance frameworks to ensure stability and operational efficiency of the platform
  • Lead engagements with adjacent teams to collaborate on technology efforts in alignment with the broader Data Strategy, while maintaining adherence to Compliance, and Regulatory standards
  • Work closely with a team of experienced engineers to identify and craft solutions for the current and next iteration of the O2 platform
  • Help drive an organization of engineering excellence (design, quality, observability, security, deployment and rollback strategies, resiliency and disaster recovery strategies, etc)
  • Cultivate a culture that challenges the status-quo
  • Work with Business Stakeholders to understand business requirements to support any ongoing or upcoming work in the O2 domain
  • Define a system architecture for new business initiatives and programs
  • Deliver or support high level and low-level designs
  • Work with and participate in various Architecture Governance Boards to procure approvals

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, related degree OR related practical experience
  • 10+ years as a Solution Architect or Domain Architect
  • Application Modernization involving Mainframe Legacy systems and Cloud Transformation experience
  • 8+ years of managing the integration of an organization’s technology strategy with business capabilities and goals to develop an effective architecture
  • 5+ years of leading the design, implementation, and ongoing support of architectural initiatives from inception to operational maintenance
  • 6+ years of strong hands-on experience designing and governing database schema for large-scale operational systems
  • Proven expertise in architecting and optimizing data pipelines(ETL, streaming, batch processing)
  • Deep understanding of performance tuning, data integrity, scalability, and resiliency patterns
  • Demonstrated experience leading on -prem to cloud migration initiatives and strong knowledge of cloud-native architecture patterns, including microservices
  • Experience in leveraging AI tools and platforms to accelerate engineering delivery
  • Experience building intelligent automation within CI/CD workflows
