We are seeking an Level 1 Architect to provide technical leadership across complex, distributed software environments. Job Responsibility

  • Design end-to-end architectures for multi-system initiatives, producing high-quality artefacts such as decision records, integration diagrams, and delivery strategies
  • Analyse business and system requirements, identifying gaps, risks, and dependencies across teams
  • Evaluate architectural trade-offs across cost, scalability, feasibility, compliance, and sustainability
  • Provide architectural consulting by reviewing designs, APIs, code, and documentation to ensure alignment with standards
  • Lead inception planning across multiple teams, clarifying responsibilities and integration boundaries
  • Research and prototype emerging technologies, validating feasibility and driving responsible innovation
  • Troubleshoot complex production incidents, contributing to root-cause analysis and long-term resilience improvements
  • Mentor engineers, uplifting architectural thinking, design quality, and technical capability
  • Engage with cross-functional stakeholders to translate requirements into robust architectural outcomes.

Requirements

  • 8-10 years of progressive experience in software architecture or software engineering
  • Minimum 3 years specialising in solution architecture for complex distributed systems within regulated environments
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related technical discipline
  • Deep expertise in software architecture, distributed systems, cloud-native design, and containerisation
  • Advanced proficiency in: Kubernetes, CI/CD, DevOps, API design, SDLC, Disaster recovery, Network routing, Automation, Governance & compliance
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and influencing skills
  • Proven ability to guide multi-team delivery in complex environments.
