Broadbent & Associates, Inc. is seeking curriculum vitae from qualified candidates to complete archaeological surveys in Nevada. Broadbent is seeking up to two seasonal archaeological field technicians for this project. Successful candidates will join a crew surveying in central and southern Nevada for 8-day field sessions between March and April. There is an option to continue working on other survey and excavation projects as they are scheduled throughout 2026. These projects require hiking off trail, working in remote areas, note taking, and finding and identifying archaeological artifacts, features, and sites in mountainous terrain. Transportation from the Reno office to the project areas will be provided. The onboarding process includes an orientation, a physical exam, and drug test. As these projects are on federal land, marijuana use is prohibited. All time to complete these tasks will be paid.
Job Responsibility:
Complete archaeological surveys in Nevada
Survey in central and southern Nevada for 8-day field sessions
Hiking off trail

Requirements:
A./B.S. in Archaeology or Anthropology or a closely related field and/or one or more years of experience in archaeological survey and excavation
Willingness to stay in small town motels
Willingness to hike with a day pack, water, and equipment in mountainous terrain
Willingness to contribute to a safe work environment and follow all applicable safety requirements of Broadbent
Ability to perform fieldwork activities independently and with a team
Ability to take clear field notes
Ability to recognize and accurately identify artifacts and features common in the region
Ability to hike up to 12 miles per day in rugged terrain during a 10-hour workday
Ability to carry up to 40 lbs. of camping equipment over distances
What we offer:
Per diem according to GSA rates for the region
Time and a half is paid for hours exceeding 40 in a single work week
All project-related travel time is paid, including mobilization to the job site and/or motel and back, and daily from the motel to the job site, and then back to the motel
