An Aquatic Director plans, coordinates and supervises personnel engaged in directing recreational aquatic programs and activities within a geographical area or specialized Citywide programs by applying sound supervisory fundamentals and techniques in building and maintaining an effective and equitable workforce, budgetary preparations, written reports and special assignments. An Aquatic Director may direct a regional or Citywide activity that includes the administration of annual programs and budgets, conduct training, and engage with the community and community agencies.

Requirements:
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university
Two years of full-time paid professional experience at the level of an Aquatic Facility Manager supervising lifeguards, overseeing and/or planning programs, working with community-based organizations, and ensuring public or patron safety
A current American Red Cross Standard First Aid Instructor Certificate
a current Water Safety Instructor Certificate
a current Basic Life Support (BLS) Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Instructor Certificate
a current Lifeguard Instructor Course Certificate
a valid Class C driver’s license
an automobile, properly insured, for use in City service
Nice to have:
Knowledge of safety principles, practices and procedures related to aquatic facilities and programming
knowledge of principles and practices used to plan, direct, and coordinate a variety of public aquatic programs
knowledge of Federal, State, and City codes, rules, standards, and regulations related to aquatic facilities and programming
