About the role: APS6 Senior HR Advisor\n\nLocation: National (Canberra, Sydney, Brisbane, or Melbourne)\n\nStart Date: ASAP\n\nEngagement Type: Labour hire\n\nContract Length: 3-6 months with possibility of an extension\n\nPay: $65 - $75 per hour + super\n\nHours: Full-time (38.0 hours per week)\n\nAbout you:\n\nAs a key member of the People team, you will contribute to the effective delivery of HR reporting and support workforce planning and strategy initiatives, including the implementation of the Agency’s latest Workforce Plan.\n\nWhile prior experience in pay and recruitment is not required, any exposure in these areas\n\nwould be valuable and can be further developed in the role. You will also demonstrate:\n\n...\n Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills\n A proactive approach to problem solving\n The ability to work independently and as part of a team\n A commitment to continuous improvement and professional development\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nComplete monthly HR data cleansing, business partner dashboards, quarterly Executive Committee HR dashboards and other internal reporting requirements, including analysis and provision of key HR insights to senior executives.\nLead and complete externally required reporting such as WGEA reporting, APS Census, Annual Report, and State of the Service.\nSupport the implementation and delivery of workforce planning strategies and outcomes.\nConduct research and analysis to formulate recommendations that inform strategic HR initiatives.\nProvide timely and practical HR advice to ASQA’s senior leadership, managers and employees across a range of human resource matters, with a focus on HR data, reporting and workforce planning.\nEnsure the accuracy of HR information, including employee data, remuneration and superannuation, by liaising with the Service Delivery Office and undertaking regular data reviews.\nProvide mentoring and support to junior staff.\nAssist with pay and recruitment matters when required (training and support will be provided).\nContribute to broader People team activities during peak periods.\n\nKey Capabilities:\n\nDemonstrated experience in HR reporting and data analysis, with strong attention to detail and the ability to identify meaningful insights.\nStrong Excel skills are essential; experience with Power BI is highly desirable.\nAbility to conduct research and analysis to inform workforce planning and HR strategy.\nSound understanding of contemporary HR practices and the legislative framework applicable to the Commonwealth government.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide practical advice and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.\n Willingness to learn and support a broad range of HR functions, including pay and recruitment, and contribute to team priorities.\n Ability to support and guide junior staff and contribute to a positive team culture.\n\nAdditional information\n\nWe are seeking a candidate with strong Excel skills and, preferably, experience using Power BI, as our HR reporting function is delivered across both systems.\n\nQualifications:\n\nQualifications in Human Resources, or other relevant disciplines highly desirable.\nUnderstanding of Vocational Education and Training (VET) in Australia including the regulatory framework (or capacity to quickly develop such an understanding).\n\nEligibility: Candidates must be Australian citizens and a hold a minimum of baseline security clearance to be eligible to apply
