Job Description:

The Apps Sup Tech Lead Analyst is a strategic professional contributing to directional strategy by considering technology integration, system enhancements, risk mitigation, and service improvement. Responsibilities include advanced app support, data analysis for system performance, automation strategy, developing SRE metrics, and partnering with multi-disciplinary teams.

Job Responsibility:

  • partner with multiple technology teams to ensure appropriate integration of functions to meet goals
  • identify and define necessary system enhancements
  • analyze existing system logic, identify problems
  • recommend and implement solutions
  • provide expertise in area and an advanced level of understanding of the principles of apps support
  • formulate and define systems scope and objectives for complex, high impact application enhancements and problem resolution through in-depth analysis and evaluation of complex business processes, systems and industry standards
  • document requirements
  • work closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts and Systems Analysts to determine and document Systems impacts and support requirements
  • identify risks, vulnerabilities and security issues
  • communicate impact
  • propose risk mitigation options
  • act as advisor or coach to new or lower level analysts
  • allocate work
  • provide in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define problems and develop innovative solutions
  • persuade and influence others through strong and comprehensive communication and diplomacy skills
  • mine and analyze large sets of data related to system performance, availability, and reliability
  • identify gaps and opportunities for improvement in system reliability and performance
  • leverage data to develop strategic roadmaps for improving SRE practices and automation
  • define and deploy key SRE metrics
  • conduct research, perform chaos engineering experiments, and publish artifacts
  • review and author operational procedures
  • establish foundational and execution work streams for process improvement and automation initiatives
  • partner with Domain, Technical architecture, and SRE teams to drive efficiency and reliability
  • develop and maintain dashboards and reporting
  • participate in on-call rotation and incident response

Requirements:

  • 6-10 years experience
  • practical problem solving and strategic thinking skills
  • demonstrated leadership, interpersonal skills and relationship building skills
  • service oriented attitude
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • experience working or leading requirement gathering efforts for multiple large development projects at one time
  • proficient using basic technical tools and systems
  • good interpersonal and communication skills
  • strong understanding of SRE Fundamentals: Service Levels Concepts (SLI, SLO, SLA, Error Budget), Toil reduction, Automation, Observability primers, Chaos Engineering, and Production Management
  • solid understanding of Observability Fundamentals: Golden Signals, Service Mapping, Business Transactions, Metrics-Logs correlations, Forecasting, and Trend analysis
  • knowledge and experience of a variety of exploratory data analysis, predictive modelling, anomaly detection techniques, and their real-world advantages/drawbacks, particularly in the context of SRE
  • experience using statistical computer languages like Python or Java, and familiarity with Go, Rust, Perl, Javascript, and Typescript
  • machine learning experience for predictive alerting and automated incident mitigation is a plus
  • experience in predictive model a/b testing and training models for SRE use cases
  • experience in complex data extraction techniques and data cleansing methodologies, especially from monitoring and logging systems
