Job Description:

The Applications Development Group Manager/Lead is a senior management level position responsible for accomplishing results through the management of a team or department in an effort to establish and implement new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology Team. The overall objective of this role is to drive applications systems analysis and programming activities. This includes managing teams, aligning deliverables with product teams' requirements, and working closely with data ingestion and conformance pipelines.

Job Responsibility:

Manage multiple teams of professionals to accomplish established goals and conduct personnel duties for team (e.g. performance evaluations, hiring and disciplinary actions)
provide strategic influence and exercise control over resources, budget management and planning while monitoring end results
utilize in-depth knowledge of concepts and procedures within own area and basic knowledge of other areas to resolve issues
ensure essential procedures are followed and contribute to defining standards
integrate in-depth knowledge of applications development with overall technology function to achieve established goals
provide evaluative judgement based on analysis of facts in complicated, unique, and dynamic situations including drawing from internal and external sources
influence and negotiate with senior leaders across functions, as well as communicate with external parties as necessary
appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards
interface with product teams to understand their requirements to build the ingestion pipelines and conformance layer for consumption by business
work closely with the data ingestion team to track the requirements and drive the build out of the canonical models
provide guidance to the data conformance team for implementing the requirements / changes / enhancements to the conformance model
do very much technical and hands-on development as part of the conformance team to deliver the business requirements
manage the workload of the team and the scrum process to align it with the objectives and priorities of the product owners
participate in data management activities related to the Risk and Regulatory requirements as needed

Requirements:

12+ years of relevant experience
experience in implementing projects
experience in systems analysis and programming of software applications
demonstrated Subject Matter Expert (SME) in area(s) of Applications Development
demonstrated knowledge of client core business functions
demonstrated leadership, project management, and development skills
relationship and consensus building skills
experience as Applications Development Manager
basic knowledge of industry practices and standards
consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication

Nice to have:

Cloudera/Hortonworks/AWS EMR, Couchbase, S3 experience
experience with Cloud Integration on AWS, Snowflake, Couchbase, or GCP tech stack components
relational SQL (Oracle, SQL Server) and NoSQL (MongoDB) database integration and data distribution principles experience
experience with API development and use of JSON/XML/Hypermedia data formats
analysis and development across Lines of business product/function including Payments, Digital Channels, Liquidities, Trade, Sales, Pricing, Client Experience having Cross train, functional and/or technical knowledge
align to Engineering Excellence Development principles and standards
