In this dual-focus role, you will be a vital part of our mental health service. You will provide expert clinical and social interventions, ensuring that the voice of the individual is at the heart of every decision.

Job Responsibility

  • AMHP Duty Rota: Actively participate in the duty rota, carrying out statutory duties under the Mental Health Act
  • Case Management: Maintain a small, manageable caseload of adults with complex mental health needs
  • Personalised Assessment: Complete comprehensive assessments that identify needs while considering the individual's unique social context
  • Support Planning: Develop creative plans that bridge the gap between statutory services and informal, community-based support
  • Safeguarding: Proactively work with adults to identify, prevent, and respond to abuse and neglect
  • Promotion of Independence: Strive to improve outcomes by focusing on recovery, empowerment, and social inclusion

Requirements

  • Qualified AMHP: You must hold a professional Social Work qualification and be currently warranted as an Approved Mental Health Professional
  • Statutory Experience: Proven experience working with adults within a statutory Local Authority mental health setting
  • Legislative Knowledge: A deep understanding of the Mental Health Act, Care Act, and Mental Capacity Act
  • Relationship Building: Ability to work collaboratively with health partners, emergency services, and community resources
  • Resilience: The ability to manage high-pressure situations and make sound professional judgements in complex scenarios
