As an Apprentice you will be given the opportunity to work with highly skilled individuals and develop competencies across the fitting, testing and machining functions in the factory working out the most efficient order to carry out tasks and recognising the correct tool and equipment for each stage of the process. You will be trained on how to carry out checks to ensure your work meets the technical and quality standards required. During the programme you will develop the ability to work from engineering drawings and technical data to produce a variety of products and components used primarily in the power and energy industry. You’ll learn how to maintain equipment and develop health and safety awareness throughout the program to support the business objectives. These positions are for a full Modern Apprenticeship program resulting in the attainment of an SCQF Level 5, SCQF Level 7 Vocational Qualifications and Academic qualifications NC and HNC in Engineering Discipline. On completion of the program, successful candidates will achieve fully qualified Engineering status.
Job Responsibility
Work through a 4-year internal apprenticeship training programme
Attend day release college and complete all assignments and examinations to obtain relevant qualifications
Complete SCQF qualification in conjunction with the education provider
During the apprenticeship complete and present a variety of projects on engineering subjects related to your training
Requirements
National 5 grade passes at level C or above in Maths, English, a Science subject (preferably Physics) and a Technical subject
Higher grades would be an advantage
willingness to learn and take on new/challenging responsibilities
commitment to completing a four-year Apprenticeship scheme
