Job Description:

Aurizon is seeking applications for Apprentice Tradesperson Electrician roles. This opportunity is ideal for individuals who are keen to learn a trade and build a long‑term career with Australia’s largest rail freight operator. On successful completion of the apprenticeship, you will obtain: Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician (UEE30820).

Requirements:

  • Demonstrate a genuine interest in learning an electrical trade and developing technical skills

  • Be prepared to work a rotating shift roster (days, afternoons, and weekends)
  • Certificate II in Electrotechnology (Career Start) (Electrotechnology Pre-apprenticeship) OR School Leavers: Successful completion of OLNA or NAPLAN Year 9 with Band 8 results OR Non‑School Leavers: Minimum C grades in Year 10 English and Mathematics, or equivalent
  • Qualifications: AQF Certificate I or Certificate II (or equivalent)
  • Hold a ‘C’ Class Driver Licence (mandatory)

Nice to have:

  • Demonstrated work experience in an industrial environment OR part‑time employment while attending school
  • Completion of Year 12 (or equivalent)
