As an apprentice in toolmaking, you will get to learn and build strong technical skills in injection-mould tooling and CNC (computer numerical control) machining.
Job Responsibility:
Manufacture complex injection mould inserts which may include bench-work such as surface finishing, blanking, and polishing
Build, assemble and test multi-component, complex, injection-mould inserts and die-sets in order to deliver complete toolsets for development and production
Provide feedback for technical reviews, giving input on manufacturing requirements
Investigate tooling issues
and troubleshoot moulding issues in conjunction with production teams
Learn CAD (Computer Aided Design) to create CAM (Computer Aided Manufacturing), a code the CNC machines understand which is used to cut the material
Engaging with external suppliers
Record and document processes
