Job Description:

We have an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice Software Developer to join our team. Working as part of a wider project team, you will learn to deliver elegant, secure, and impactful solutions to FSP and our clients. As an Apprentice Software Developer, you will gain a variety of technical skills on the job whilst completing your qualification. The apprenticeship takes place over a 15-month period where you will: Gain a nationally recognised qualification in Software Development (Level 4 Apprenticeship Standard); Learn on the job alongside receiving external training and coaching; Develop experience across multiple projects, clients and sectors; Broaden your understanding across key Software Engineering specialisms, such as: The software development lifecycle; Full stack JavaScript development; Front-end development; Back-end development; And an introduction to a second development language

Job Responsibility:

  • Work as part of the wider FSP project team to deliver technical solutions to clients
  • Write clean, structured and secure code
  • Produce technical artefacts including administration guides and configuration documents
  • Stay up to date with the latest technology developments and promote these within your projects
  • Contribute to initiatives and share knowledge as part of the FSP technical community
  • Complete course assignments to achieve Software Engineering certification

Requirements:

  • A-levels or equivalent (must have a level 2 GCSE in both English & Maths)
  • Strong analytical skills and an eye for detail
  • Engaging and able to easily build rapport with others
  • Keen interest in technology and possessing good IT skills
  • Enjoys the challenge of a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Due to the nature of this role successful candidates may need to undergo security clearance. To be eligible for this role you must have lived in the UK for at least 5 consecutive years
