Job Description:

Full-time permanent Assessor (Apprentice Skills Coach) in Engineering role at Tameside College, a diverse and vibrant further education college with a 'good' Ofsted rating. The college aims to give all students an exceptional experience in a supportive and friendly environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Deliver training, assessing and quality assuring work-based learning programmes in line with the college’s Apprenticeship Strategy
  • Work towards the growth of high quality, employer focused provision that maximises opportunities for learners to achieve and progress into sustained employment
  • Support with the training needs of learners through a range of methodologies
  • Make a difference in people’s lives

Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Engineering
  • Mechanical engineering background
  • Hands on experience and/or working knowledge of both traditional and CNC machining
  • Sound understanding of Inspection and quality control and office-based engineering roles
  • Relevant occupational experience
  • Enthusiastic, resilient and highly motivated
  • Literacy/Numeracy to at least Level 2
  • Experience in a technical support role utilising various IT systems

  • Diagnose and repair issues across engines, gearboxes, axles, body systems and high-voltage equipment
