We are seeking an Apprentice Quantity Surveyor to join our team. You will support data centre construction and operations. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals looking to build a career in cost and commercial management within a high-tech, fast-paced environment. You will work under the guidance of senior quantity surveyors and commercial managers to assist in delivering cost-effective, efficient project outcomes.

Job Responsibility:

  • Assist in the preparation of cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents
  • Support the measurement and valuation of works in progress on-site
  • Help monitor project costs and prepare regular financial reports
  • Assist in the assessment and certification of subcontractor payments
  • Support procurement processes, including supplier engagement and contract administration
  • Maintain accurate records of project costs and variations
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure commercial objectives are met
  • Participate in site visits and meetings to gain practical experience
  • Represent the business, upholding our core values and behaviours with all internal and external customers, clients and third parties
  • Maintain business and client confidentiality, adhering to applicable Data Protection regulations and Information Security Standards in line with company and group policies and procedures

Requirements:

  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to learning
  • Basic understanding of construction processes and terminology
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Currently enrolled in or recently completed a relevant qualification (e.g., BSc in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or similar)
  • Willingness to enrol in a relevant qualification (e.g., BSc in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or similar) on a part-time course
  • Willingness to work towards professional accreditation (e.g., RICS or CIOB)

Nice to have:

Previous internship or work experience in construction or commercial support
