We are seeking an Apprentice Quantity Surveyor to join our team. You will support data centre construction and operations. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals looking to build a career in cost and commercial management within a high-tech, fast-paced environment. You will work under the guidance of senior quantity surveyors and commercial managers to assist in delivering cost-effective, efficient project outcomes.
Job Responsibility:
Assist in the preparation of cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents
Support the measurement and valuation of works in progress on-site
Help monitor project costs and prepare regular financial reports
Assist in the assessment and certification of subcontractor payments
Support procurement processes, including supplier engagement and contract administration
Maintain accurate records of project costs and variations
Collaborate with project teams to ensure commercial objectives are met
Participate in site visits and meetings to gain practical experience
Represent the business, upholding our core values and behaviours with all internal and external customers, clients and third parties
Maintain business and client confidentiality, adhering to applicable Data Protection regulations and Information Security Standards in line with company and group policies and procedures
Requirements:
Strong numerical and analytical skills
Good communication and interpersonal abilities
Attention to detail and a proactive approach to learning
Basic understanding of construction processes and terminology
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Currently enrolled in or recently completed a relevant qualification (e.g., BSc in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or similar)
Willingness to enrol in a relevant qualification (e.g., BSc in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or similar) on a part-time course
Willingness to work towards professional accreditation (e.g., RICS or CIOB)
Nice to have:
Previous internship or work experience in construction or commercial support
