Job Description

Are you interested in the built environment? Do you enjoy working outdoors? Are you often curious about how things are made and why things work? If so, perhaps working as a plant operative is your career call. Earn as you learn, combining study for a Level 5 in Plant Operations, with industry experience at the largest independent construction materials group in the UK.

Job Responsibility

  • Part of the quarry team producing the materials for the construction industry ensuring we deliver high quality products for the customers
  • Trained to operate machinery (including dumpers & loading shovels)
  • Ensure you maintain the highest level of safety for you and your colleagues at all times
  • Attend 3 x 4 week blocks of training in East Anglia in England, which will require you to be residential

Requirements

  • National 4 in Maths & English desirable although not essential
  • An interest in working in the great outdoors
  • Good communication skills
  • Flexibility and the ability to work as part of an effective quarry operational team
  • Skill set of being self-motivated and able to motivate other colleagues in the team
  • A full UK Driving Licence
  • Flexibility with your working hours which may include weekends and evenings
  • The enthusiasm to get stuck in and work as part of a team
  • You will need to be a minimum age of 18 (by July 2026)
