We are currently looking for a Painting and Decorating Apprentice to join our award-winning apprenticeship scheme that could help you achieve your goals whilst also making a positive impact on other people's lives.
Job Responsibility:
Working on projects which includes social housing, student accommodation and the occasional lighthouse
Covering areas including Cardiff, Newport, Monmouth and Abergavenny
Preparing surfaces (filling, sanding, caulking)
Mastering the art of paint application (rolling, cutting in, brush skills)
Sprucing up gloss work (doors and window frames, skirtings)
Getting outdoors with external works (railings, sheds, fences and walls)
Exploring different sites, working both inside and outside in all weather
Attending college to understand the “how and why” of your trade (usually 1 day a week)
Building an awesome portfolio of evidence for your End Point Assessment (EPA)
Being a valued team member and contribute to our overall success
Requirements:
A genuine passion for painting and decorating and practical, hands-on work
A positive attitude and problem-solving mindset
Commitment to building your career at Ian Williams
Strong organisational skills (to juggle college and work)
GCSE (or equivalent) grade 1(G) or above in Maths and English
Eligibility to work in the UK on a permanent basis
