Job Responsibility:

  • Work closely and supporting your lead engineer/mentor and assist on day to day basis work tasks
  • Attend college when required to learn the technical side of Networking and Infrastructure
  • Become a qualified Network and infrastructure engineer

Requirements:

  • Good problem-solving skills and a methodical approach to troubleshooting
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal, with a friendly and professional manner
  • Passed GCSE in maths and English at grade 4 or above
  • Must be prepared to be security cleared
  • Must be over 18
  • Must hold a valid Manual driving licence

Nice to have:

  • Previous experience or coursework in IT support, networking, or infrastructure is advantageous
  • It would be advantageous if you’re security cleared, or hold an MOJ clearance

  • Cabling Installation and decommissioning: Installing new racks and cabling systems (copper Cat 6 and Multimode fibre optic ) according to specifications and industry standards. Decommissioning of redundant cabling systems and racks
  • Cable Management: Ensuring proper cable routing, organization, and termination to maintain a tidy and efficient data centre environment
  • Troubleshooting and Repair: Identifying and resolving issues with cabling infrastructure, including network connectivity problems
  • Testing and Documentation: Conducting tests to ensure the quality and functionality of cabling systems and maintaining accurate documentation of the cabling infrastructure
