Job Description

Are you looking to kick start your career as a Joiner? Are you based in or near Salford? We are looking for a Joinery apprentice to work on a 24 month fixed term basis, working 40 hours per week. The salary is based upon the National Minimum Age for apprentices.

Job Responsibility

  • Attend training and work toward your craft qualification, which will include: Repair/ renew ceiling and floor joists, stairs, studding, partition walls, T&G
  • Repair/ renew doors and doo casing, skirting, handrails, balustrades, pipe boards and ducting panelling
  • Repair/ renew kitchen units, work tops and decorative finishes
  • Repair/ replace ironmongery to doors and windows
  • Deglaze/ Reglaze timber fencing and gates
  • Communicate with clients to arrange and carry out work
  • Leave homes clean and safe, collecting tenant signatures after jobs
  • Support colleagues and build relationships across the business
  • Safely operate tools, machinery, and vehicles
  • Keep accurate records of work and materials used
  • Follow safety procedures, including reporting hazards
  • Complete paperwork accurately and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Work flexibly, including out-of-hours if needed, and follow all health and safety guidelines

Requirements

  • Have a genuine interest in working in Joinery
  • 16- 18-year-old Level 4 in English & Maths (C Grade or above or functional skills level 2)
  • 19+ Level 2 in English & Maths (C Grade or above or functional skills level 2)
  • Have a positive approach to completing relevant courses and qualifications
  • Flexibility and a positive attitude towards varied work and schedules
  • Excellent customer service skills and punctuality
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent organisational and planning skills
