Job Description

As an Electrical Apprentice, you'll assist our current tradesman in carrying out a range of repairs, maintenance and installation works in customers' homes, void properties and Portsmouth City Council’s corporate buildings. Your apprenticeship journey will be supported by experienced trade professionals, and a dedicated mentor who will work closely with you, providing regular feedback on your progress. You will work alongside your mentor for four days per week and attend college for one day a week, to study and pass an NVQ Level 3 Electrical Qualification. This apprenticeship will be a 3-year programme made up of work-based learning and college/training Centre attendance.

Job Responsibility

  • Purchase tools throughout your apprenticeship to enable you to perform your role on completion

Requirements

  • 5 GCSEs grades 9-4 (A*-C), preferably including Maths and English
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Committed to learning and progressing every day whilst developing your skills within a practical hands-on environment
  • Able to listen and communicate with others
  • Ability to follow instructions
