We are looking for an Apprentice Bid Writer to join our expanding Bids team and support the delivery of high-quality, compliant and competitive bid submissions. This role plays a key part in the administrative and coordination activity that underpins successful bids. You will support bid writers and senior bid colleagues by managing tender administration, maintaining compliance information and ensuring bid documentation is accurate, well-organised and submitted on time.
Job Responsibility:
Supporting in the preparation of Pre-Qualification Questionnaire (PQQ) documents and bid responses
Collating current company information for including in PQQ/bid documents
Researching current and future clients to provide background information
Arranging and attending all PQQ/bid meetings and taking minutes
Maintaining bid files to ensure all files hold the correct, current information
Using a variety of software packages, such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, etc., to produce correspondence and documents and to maintain presentations, records, spreadsheets and databases
Diary management for bid managers
Project support for members of the bid team
Liaising with staff in other departments and with external contacts
Booking travel/hotels/meetings rooms/catering as required
Taking minutes during meetings as required and distributing to relevant parties
Creating document packs in preparation for meetings
Requirements:
4 GCSE grades A-C (or equivalent), including maths & English or the ability to reach this level during the apprenticeship programme
Good standards of written and verbal communication
IT literate – able to work with MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and navigate the internet, including social media
Able to work in a team
Willingness to learn
Attention to detail
Self-motivated and organised
Able to work under pressure and to deadlines
Telephone skills
Nice to have:
A levels or degree
Previous administration experience
A driving licence and vehicle is beneficial due to location of the Sheffield office and occasional travel, but not essential
