Job Description

We are ambitious and committed to be the starting point of fashion for our customers and partners; therefore we are re-founding and scaling our Applied Science backbone for Ads Personalization working backwards from user, content and context understanding. As an Applied Science Manager in ZMS, you will enable talented scientists and engineers to deliver effective and scientifically-sound solutions to our main business problems: real-time recommendation for our Sponsored Product and Campaign advertisements. Open-research problems are involved, at the intersection of Deep Learning, Auction Theory, Econometrics, Causal inference, and high-load low-latency Machine Learning Engineering, giving opportunities for scientific contributions. We are looking for a leader with experience in guiding research work, and in delivering impact from science-based systems. You will support a team of Applied Scientists and ML Engineers. This position is a unique opportunity to have visible impact, and connect with exceptional talents from many different backgrounds.

Job Responsibility

  • Empower and support Applied Scientists and ML Engineers reviewing and guiding their work, creating conditions for high-quality deliveries and career growth
  • lead the team in defining and executing roadmaps, in a way that integrates the high level of uncertainty and complexity involved in our projects
  • raise the bar, engage the team into defining and adopting always better standards in Applied Science and ML Engineering standards
  • as a scientific competence center make sure the team collaborates smoothly with other teams and other job functions

Requirements

  • PhD or MSc in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics
  • at least 5+ years of industry experience in Machine Learning/Data Science/Deep Learning
  • experience in Advertising/Ecommerce industry is preferred, including leading teams in these domains
  • experience (2Y+) in people and project leadership under uncertainty and ambiguity
  • proven track record in developing solutions from initial idea to production
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills, clarity and structure
