The Applicator’s responsibilities include but are not limited to delivery of fertilizer to fields, water run fertilizer applications, overseeing all Fertigation activities and maintenance of all Fertilizer equipment.
Job Responsibility:
Actively participate in Company Safety and Good Manufacturing Practice Programs
Fertigation: Applies water run liquid fertilizer
In-Furrow: Mixes and applies fertilizer and/or pesticides at planting or cultivation that is applied directly to the furrow
Spraying: Mixes and applies a fertilizer and/or pesticide to roadsides, around buildings, or other areas, which includes backpack sprayers, road sprayers, etc.
Calibration: Calibrates fertilizer and/or pesticide delivery systems, such as fertilizer delivery systems on planters, seed treatment applications, or in-furrow pesticide applications
Equipment Maintenance: Repairs and maintains all fertigation equipment, including any fabrication or installation of new equipment
Housekeeping: Cleaning and maintaining vehicles and areas such as shop area, chemical storage areas, containment areas and airstrips
Pesticide Delivery: Delivers pesticides to airstrip, ground rigs, costumers, circles, etc.
Cross Training: Cross-trained on the following positions – Operator, Truck Driver, Soil Sampler, and Mix Man
Requirements:
High School Diploma or Equivalent or 3 years related experience and/or training
or equivalent combination of education and experience
A Washington State Commercial Pesticide License, with all categories pertaining to the agricultural business preferred or private applicator license
Clean MVR (Motor Vehicle Record)
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently
Exposed to an outdoor environment that varies from hot too cold in temperature and all weather elements
Regular exposure to outdoor farming environments during the workday, including loud noise, excessive heat, cold, wet, slippery conditions, dirt, fumes, smoke, odors, and allergens
Ability to do repetitious arm, wrist and hand movements required for job actions and procedures
Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under the equipment
Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination and good balance to work both at ground level and in high places to perform job duties
Ability to operate work related equipment
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
Climbing to various heights via stairs or ladders to access equipment
Valid Driver’s License and driving record that meets Lamb Weston Driving Standards
