Applications Support Sr Analyst

• Apply in-depth disciplinary knowledge, contributing to the development of new techniques and improvement of processes and workflows
• evaluate moderately complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact
• filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources
• assume informal/formal leadership roles within teams
• coach and train new recruits
• influence decisions through advice, counsel and/or facilitating services to others in area of specialization.

• 6-8 years of strong Application production support experience in the financial industry
• experience using call/ticketing software
• working knowledge of various components and technologies under Cloudera distribution like HDFS, Hive, Impala, Spark, YARN, Sentry, Oozie, Kafka
• very good knowledge on analyzing the bottlenecks on the cluster - performance tuning, effective resource usage, capacity planning, investigating
• perform daily performance monitoring of the cluster - implement best practices, ensure cluster stability and create/analyze performance metrics
• hands-on experience in supporting applications built on Hadoop
• 4-6 years of experience with Linux
• good SQL experience in any of the RDBMS
• familiarity with Autosys / CONTROL-M or other schedulers will be of added advantage
• UNIX shell scripting, Python / PERL will be of added advantage
• knowledge/working experience of ITRS Active Console or other monitoring tools.
