Job Description:

The Applications Support Sr Analyst role involves providing technical and business support for Citi applications, driving stability and efficiency in daily operations, prioritizing bug fixes, and ensuring application resiliency while acting as a liaison between multiple stakeholders.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provides technical and business support for users of Citi applications
  • maintains application systems that have completed the development stage and are running in daily operations
  • manages, maintains and supports applications and their operating environments, focusing on stability, quality and functionality
  • performs start of day checks, continuous monitoring, and regional handover
  • performs same day risk reconciliations
  • develops and maintains technical support documentation
  • identifies ways to maximize the potential of applications used
  • assesses risk and impact of production issues and escalates to business and technology management in a timely manner
  • ensures that storage and archiving procedures are in place and functioning correctly
  • formulates and defines scope and objectives for complex application enhancements and problem resolution
  • reviews and develops application contingency planning to ensure availability to users
  • partners with appropriate development and production support areas to prioritize bug fixes and support tooling requirements
  • participates in application releases, from development, testing and deployment into production
  • engages in post implementation analysis to ensure successful system design and functionality
  • considers implications of the application of technology to the current environment, identifies risks, vulnerabilities and security issues, and communicates impact
  • ensures essential procedures are followed and defines operating standards and processes
  • acts as a liaison between users/traders, interfacing internal technology groups and vendors
  • adheres to Service Level Agreements
  • provides evaluative judgment and acts as advisor or coach to new or lower level analysts
  • actively participates in and owns Support Project items covering Stability, Efficiency, and Effectiveness initiatives

Requirements:

  • 5-8 years experience in an Application Support role
  • experience installing, configuring or supporting business applications
  • experience with some programming languages and willingness/ability to learn
  • advanced execution capabilities and ability to adjust quickly to changes and re-prioritization
  • effective written and verbal communications including ability to explain technical issues in simple terms that non-IT staff can understand
  • demonstrated analytical skills
  • issue tracking and reporting using tools
  • knowledge/experience of problem Management Tools
  • good all-round technical skills
  • effectively share information with other support team members and with other technology teams
  • ability to plan and organize workload
  • consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
  • ability to communicate appropriately to relevant stakeholders
  • manage production support activities including but not limited to initial analysis, issue simulation in lower environment, user trainings, release deployments, timely escalation/resolution for all the issues
  • work in close liaison with Product Operations, Infrastructure and other supporting technology groups across various environments to drive problem resolution and service level agreements
  • establishing a common platform for monitoring all Application components and manage Application Resiliency
  • strong knowledge/experience of Unix/Linux commands & shell scripting
  • strong knowledge/experience of Database platforms such as Oracle, OraaS & MongoDB
  • knowledge/experience of WebSphere and Open Shift platforms
  • knowledge/experience of job scheduling tools such as Autosys
  • knowledge/experience of application monitoring tools like ITRS Geneos & App Dynamics
  • knowledge/experience of problem Management Tools
