The Applications Support Senior Analyst is a seasoned professional role that applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge, contributing to the improvement of processes and work-flow in the defined area, while driving initiatives to maximize the potential of applications used.
Job Responsibility:
Swiftly address and resolve application-related incidents, ensuring consistent system uptime and functionality for users
manage, maintain and support applications and their operating environments, focusing on stability, quality and functionality against service level expectations
Execute daily system verifications and maintain continuous oversight of application performance, facilitating smooth regional handover
Conduct daily risk reconciliations to mitigate potential exposures and ensure data integrity across platforms, initiate appropriate escalation protocols to relevant stakeholders, when necessary, partner with appropriate development and production support areas to prioritize bug fixes and support tooling requirements
Create and update thorough technical support documentation, ensure that storage and archiving procedures are in place and functioning correctly
Drive initiatives to maximize the potential of the applications used, participate in application releases, from development, testing and deployment into production as well as engage in post implementation analysis
Develop and implement robust contingency plans to guarantee sustained application availability and minimize disruption in unforeseen circumstances
Actively lead and contribute to projects focused on bolstering system stability, improving operational efficiency, and enhancing the overall effectiveness of application support processes
Act as a Subject Matter Expert between diverse user groups and internal technology teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment of support efforts, coach new or lower level analysts
Requirements:
5 years+ experience in an Application Support role including experience in installing, configuring or supporting business applications
Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience
IT background with high-level competence in Unix
Excellent command of English
Effective written and verbal communications including ability to explain technical issues in simple terms that non-IT staff can understand
Demonstrated analytical skills combined with organizational skills and hunger of knowledge
Nice to have:
CI/CD and configuration management
database experience (Oracle, MongoDB)
coding (Java, Python)
Observability/Alerting at scale
Grafana
working knowledge of Generative AI with LLM
familiarity with digital assets/blockchain technology including concepts such as cryptocurrencies, NFTs, decentralized finance (DeFi), and distributed ledger technology (DLT)
