The Applications Development Programmer Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to applications systems analysis and programming activities.
Job Responsibility
Utilize knowledge of applications development procedures and concepts, and basic knowledge of other technical areas to identify and define necessary system enhancements
Identify and analyze issues, make recommendations, and implement solutions
Utilize knowledge of business processes, system processes, and industry standards to solve complex issues
Analyze information and make evaluative judgements to recommend solutions and improvements
Conduct testing and debugging, utilize script tools, and write basic code for design specifications
Assess applicability of similar experiences and evaluate options under circumstances not covered by procedures
Develop working knowledge of Citi’s information systems, procedures, standards, client server application development, network operations, database administration, systems administration, data center operations, and PC-based applications
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency
Provisioning and Maintenance: Assist in the setup, configuration, and maintenance of database servers and systems (e.g., SQL, NoSQL)
Monitoring: Monitor database health, performance, and system availability to ensure operational excellence
Backup and Recovery: Support the implementation and testing of database backup and recovery procedures
Troubleshooting: Provide initial support for troubleshooting database-related issues, including connectivity, access, and performance problems
User Management: Manage user access and permissions for various database environments under supervision
Documentation: Help create and maintain clear and concise documentation for database infrastructure, processes, and procedures
Liaison: Act as a primary point of contact for development teams regarding their infrastructure needs and queries
Environment Support: Assist developers with the setup and configuration of their development and testing environments
Communication: Facilitate communication between infrastructure and development teams, ensuring that upcoming changes, maintenance schedules, and potential impacts are clearly understood
Issue Resolution: Collaborate with both development and senior infrastructure staff to help diagnose and resolve technical issues that bridge application and infrastructure domains
Account Onboarding: Assist in the onboarding of privileged accounts (e.g., service accounts, administrator accounts, application accounts) into the CyberArk vault. Ensure that new accounts are configured correctly according to established policies and standards
User & Safe Management: Create and manage CyberArk safes, setting appropriate access controls and permissions based on approved requests
Provide first-level support to users, assisting with access issues, password retrievals, and troubleshooting session connectivity
Requirements
2-5 years of relevant experience
Basic knowledge of IT infrastructure concepts, including servers, networking, and storage
Basic knowledge of ITIL process (Incident, Change & Problem Management)
Foundational understanding of database principles (both relational and non-relational)
Experience with Linux or Windows Server administration
Exposure to OpenShift, Kubernetes
Exposure to cloud computing platforms
Exposure to Middleware components
Working knowledge of industry practice and standards
Comprehensive knowledge of specific business area for application development
Working knowledge of program languages
Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
