Applications Engineering within the custom automation equipment industry is focused on the development of competitive technical solutions to customer requirements for custom automated equipment.

Job Responsibility

  • Review customer technical specifications and requirements for System Concepts, Costs, Risk Assessments, and Proposal Documents
  • Apply Practical Conformance to JRA Corporate Practices, Procedures and Tools
  • Coordinating and executing large multi-business unit quotes
  • Managing core customers
  • Developing internal win strategy and execution
  • Generating conceptual solutions in various CAD formats
  • Facilitating concept brainstorming and docket review meetings
  • Coordinating preliminary and final reviews of Quote Packages
  • Developing Proposals defining Scope of Work, Rate of Production, Machine Buy-off requirements
  • Aiding in mentorship of less experienced Apps Engineers, Co-ops and Interns
  • Supporting Account Managers
  • Traveling independently or with an Account Manager
  • Presenting in meetings
  • Maintaining AE related fields in company CRM
  • Scheduling and facilitating Project Kickoff Meetings
  • Supporting functional team members by facilitating Tollgate Meetings
  • Attending early Phase Project Design Reviews

Requirements

  • 5+ years of industry experience leading successful projects
  • Bachelor's degree in a related engineering field or related industry experience
  • Mechanical or Mechatronics engineer strongly preferred
  • Proficient in all Applications Engineering processes and tools
  • Background in automated manufacturing or industrial systems is preferred
  • Experience in sales and/or customer interaction
